Plastique is hiring experienced stretch and mobility instructors to teach small group classes in our NYC studio.
This role is ideal for instructors who understand stretching as a primary discipline, not a warm-up or cooldown. We are especially interested in applicants with ballet or classical dance training, as this background often brings the body awareness, precision, and respect for alignment that this work requires.
Required experience:
(1) Demonstrated experience teaching or practicing stretching and/or mobility as a core focus
(2) Strong understanding of alignment, joint safety, and progressive flexibility
(3) Ability to confidently cue and manage small groups
(4) Professional reliability and comfort working within a defined class framework
Strongly preferred (but not required):
(1) Ballet or classical dance training
(2) Background in dance conditioning, assisted stretching, mat pilates
(3) Experience working with adults of varying mobility levels
Training on Plastique’s class structure and language will be provided. We value instructors who are thoughtful, consistent, and serious about their craft.
This is a contract role to start, with opportunities for regular weekly classes as the studio opens and grows.
Plastique is a new NYC-based group stretch studio launching in 2026. Our classes are designed to develop elasticity, strength, posture, and coordination, while also reducing physical and emotional tension.
Our stretching classes combine intentional muscle engagement with measured, progressive flexibility work, creating a balanced experience that leaves clients both energized and grounded.
