Seeking a new sublet for a beautiful backyard facing room in my apartment. I have been subletting this room for several years. The couple I am currently renting it to are parting ways to find their own separate living situations, and have been with me for the last 3 years. The room is cozy and sunny, with a spacious layout. It will be unfurnished. This room includes a MASSIVE sliding door closet with shelf space. The price per month is a flat rate, including all utilities.

The apartment is on the second floor, and is located in a great trifecta for subway access (5 minute walk to the J Chauncey stop, 5 minute walk to the C Rockaway Ave stop, and 8 minute walk to the L Bushwick Ave-Aberdeen stop). 20 minutes to the lower east side, and 30 minutes to midtown Manhattan. Laundry and grocery are readily available in the neighborhood, as well as some cute coffee shops and bars.

The kitchen is a lovely open space. I prefer other people not use my cookware. But you are more than welcome to use the plates, glasses, and silverware. There are 3 bedrooms total. I Airbnb the front bedroom and have been an Airbnb host for the last 3 years. The common area bathroom is used by Airbnb guests, however it is basically yours as guests are constantly out and about enjoying the city and don’t hang out in the apt. I have my own private bathroom. I maintain cleanliness in the common area bathroom as well as the rest of the apt, however I expect you to do your relative fair share.

I would not only be open to, but am highly motivated to extend the sublease for the right person but it is a minimum commitment of 1 year.

I am 34 years old and have been working in the hospitality/service industry since my early 20s and started working in restaurant management several years ago. I have been living in New York City for 16 years and I have been in this absolute gem of an apartment for the past 8. I became the sole lease holder about 5 years ago. I also have a dog, he is short haired, and a complete sweetheart that loves everyone. I love to cook, I like to keep my home pretty clean, and although I do like my space when I’m home, I’m happy to chat and keep things friendly. Most important is just being respectful and considerate. The home is a sacred place to recharge and relax, and be yourself. This is not a “take the party home” type of environment, nor a place for constant house guests staying over, nor having guests over on a regular basis. Having a friend/significant other over here and there is no problem. An ideal fit for me is someone that is clean, kind, self aware, gracious, stable, and independent.
