Located in green and vibrant Stoke Newington, North London, this is a spacious and bright 1 bed apartment on the second floor.
The apartment is on a quiet residential street off Stoke Newington High Street; access at street level is shared with one other apartment on the first floor.
The space is fully furnished, with wifi and washing machine. There's a capacious living area which contains a work space, sofa, dining table and small but well-equipped kitchen. The bedroom is decent sized with large double bed. There's a small bathroom (with bath), and hallway. There is also a large roof terrace with seating, via a skylight in the hallway, to which you have sole access. Very comfortable for a solo occupant, or a couple to share.
Stoke Newington (N16) is known for its village-like atmosphere, bustling high street, abundance of cafes, restaurants, and bookshops. Church Street, famous for its shops, parks and pubs, is five minutes' walk away.
Situated in north west Hackney, you're a short bus ride or 10 min walk to Dalston, with its bars, busy nightlife and London-wide train connections. A five-minute Overground train from Rectory Road (5 mins walk) takes you to London Fields, a huge park next to Broadway Market's food stalls and artistic communities. The eclectic East London areas of Bethnal Green and Shoreditch are only slightly further way on the Overground.
A bus takes you to Kings Cross (where you can catch Eurostar to Paris, Brussels etc) in about forty minutes, or you can get to Liverpool Street in 15 mins on the Overground, and from there it's a quick hop into central London on the tube (a bus is a little longer but allows you to get you bearings!)
The ideal subletter will be respectful of the space (which includes the letter's property: books, clothes, etc, though adequate room will be made for your things), tidy and cognisant that you'll be living in a diverse area with young families (no parties).
This location is perfect for exploring London, and using as a base for trips around the UK and Europe.
I am a writer and professor who has lived in North London for 2 years. I moved into this property in May 2025, and will be spending six weeks in Italy, for a writing residency.
It's a lovely apartment, and would suit anyone wanting to work on a creative project, or get to know London in summer (the best time to visit!)
Rent and a deposit should be paid in advance (rent includes bills).
Moving in and out dates are somewhat flexible.
