The apartment has a large living room, one bathroom, full kitchen, lots of windows, and hardwood floors. The room for rent is spacious, sunlit, furnished and has good closet space. You will be sharing the common areas with me and two sweet cats.
The apartment is located a few steps from the 1 train and some blocks away from the A and C trains, making it easy to move all around the city.
*Columbia University is a 10 minutes raid away on the 1 train
*Columbia Presbyterian Hospital is at walking distance
*Midtown is 20 minutes away
*Union Square/Washington Sq is 30 minutes away
As we are located very close to Broadway, there are several restaurants, coffee-shops, supermarkets, and convenience stores nearby. Our building is located in a tree-lined residential street. Since most of the apartment windows face an internal garden, there is barely any street noise coming in. The building is a walk-up and you have to be comfortable climbing four flights.
If you are into sports or jogging, there is a planet fitness around the corner and Riverside Park is just a stone throw away (Olympic-size pool; skating ring; bike path; tennis and basketball courts; soccer field; running track and so on). The neighborhood is quite pleasant, lively and safe.
I like to cultivate a clean, quiet and harmonious environment in the apartment--especially now that many of us have to work from home. We mostly socialize outside, except for the occasional dinner with friends. Last but not least: we do not wear outside shoes inside the apartment.
The move-in date is September 1st, but dates are slightly flexible. Ideally, I am looking for someone that stays for the full academic year (at least until June 1st, 2025). The space is queer friendly.
The rent is 1400/month and utilities are split two ways at the end of each month. If you are interested, please share with me:
-Some basic details about yourself and your plans in the city
-How your schedule would look like in the coming months (including if you will work remotely or not)
-Income/funding situation
-Ideal move-in and move-out dates
Looking forward to hearing from you!
