Hey there–
Looking for someone to live with me for a few months starting on January 1st. The room is fully furnished and move-in ready, so it’s great if you’re coming from out of town. The ideal person wants to stay at least 3 months, preferably more. Rent is $2,300 a month, plus half the electric bill.
The place is a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment by the Tompkins/Hasley intersection in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn (a fabulous neighborhood, if you ask me). The vibe of the streets around the place is brownstones, trees, and cool cafes. I’m off the A/C train lines, so the commute to lower Manhattan usually takes me some 30 minutes door-to-door. The nearest park is 10 minutes away or so
The building is 6 stories. Amenities include a gym, bike storage, laundry room, study room, and a rooftop with a view of the Manhattan skyline. (There’s also a mini-rooftop on the same floor as the apartment, but since nobody ever goes there, I declared it my own private terrace.) The apartment is fully equipped with centralized air conditioning and heating, modern appliances, and a dishwasher.
Your would-be room has high ceilings, a giant window with lots of light, and a built-in closet. You’d have your own private bathroom.
I’m Gigi, 30, a journalist/writer. Born and raised in Latin America, lived in Europe for a bit, before moving to NYC in 2021. Speak English, Spanish, Italian, and working on my French. Commute to the office in Manhattan 3 days a week. Enjoy to read, cook, play backgammon.
I'd love a neat and nice housemate who can hang. I'm pretty chill about guests from out of town staying at the place (with a reasonable heads up). I am also open to considering couples if they're down to split rent three ways.
If you’re interested, please tell me a bit about yourself, what you do, etc
Stay at least 3 months, with the option to stay longer, or play it by ear, month-to-month
Deposit equal to 1-month rent
Proof of income, bank statements, and/or W-2
No pets (I'm allergic)
No big furniture (the place is already furnished)
