It's a full floor apartment, 2nd floor walk up of a three unit building near Franklin and Park Ave. right on the border of Williamsburg and Bed Stuy. It is a largely Hasidic neighborhood and you can walk about 4-6 blocks in any direction and be in a new neighborhood - Clinton Hill (near Pratt, so lots of restaurants and shops), Bed Stuy, Williamsburg, and Bushwick are all walkable. The closest train is the G, which is about 7-8 blocks or a 15 minute walk. A, C, M, and J are also walkable, but more like 25 minutes.

The space itself is gorgeous with high ceilings, a big kitchen, an office/work space, wood floors, and a tiny but cozy bedroom with a full size bed. I am a designer and a maximalist with lots of colorful things everywhere that you will have to live among. I will clear a closet and a dresser for you, but much of my personal stuff will remain.

I ask that you water my plants once a week, bring in my mail and text me with the occasional update about both.

All utilities are included in the rental price. I have wifi, an (oldish) tv with an apple TV for streaming. No washer/dryer but a laundromat is 2 blocks away. Street parking is fairly easy. Feel free to ask about anything I haven't mentioned.

About This Lister

I have lived here for 3.5 years and really love the place. I am a production designer and often work out of town for a few months at a time, and have had mostly good experiences subletting in the past. I enjoy color and collecting, so this space is a sensory experience - some find it exhilarating and some find it exhausting. Hoping to find someone who will truly enjoy it and take care of it while I'm away.

Rental requirements

I would prefer to rent to one person for the entire time, but am open to negotiations on the dates. There's also a chance that this will roll right into another out of town job for me, and could extend to mid-October, but I won't know that until mid-July.
A couple could also stay, but the space is really set up to be most comfortable for one person. No pets, no parties, no smoking. My landlords are aware that I often work out of town and seek a sublet/housesit arrangement when I am gone. I will ask that you sign a rental agreement that we draw up together and pay the first month at the time of signing and second month 30 days in. I will not charge a deposit, but in the agreement you agree to pay for any damages or loss incurred by you.
I am out of town until June 12th, but can discuss from afar, and then meet in person or via facetime the weekend of June 13-15 to show you the place. Start date could be anytime from June 16 on. Any period after the first full month will be pro-rated if not a full 30 days.
