Description
This was once a three-bedroom apartment, but all of the walls have been ripped out so now it’s a large loft-style studio with a separate kitchen. Tons of windows and natural light plus a fire-escape featuring views of the city to the left and Manhattan bridge to the right.
The main room has space for lounging on a large sectional sofa to one end, remote workstation in the center (good WiFi, and lighting and background for teleconference calls), closet and combination queen-size italian memory foam murphy-bed/dining table on the far end. It also has blackout curtains, philips hue light bulbs, and an air conditioner that can all be controlled via smartphone. There is a popcorn maker and short-throw smart projector—with all of the apps and a 150" display—for movie nights on the couch. A great speaker system for listening to music and an external monitor for remote working, too.
The kitchen is large and well equipped, and the bathroom is simple- essentials plus a window (with privacy film).
The apartment sits at the top floor of a 16 unit building (hence ample natural light but also, it is a 5th floor walkup). Directly downstairs is a cute coffee shop and three art galleries. Despite being in Manhattan, the street is VERY quiet. It is a 6 minute walk to the F Train and a 10-17 minute walk to many other major subway lines including the A, C, J, Z, Q, 2, 3 and B.
I’m looking to rent to someone who will enjoy and take care of it while I’m gone. Preferably a single person or couple without pets.
Two changes have been made since these photos were taken: Instead of the yellow chair there is now a brown wicker chair (it's much prettier), there are more plants, and there is a pretty rug in the living room that makes the space feel cozier.
