Sunny bedroom in a quiet 2 bedroom apartment in a great area of Greenpoint. A few blocks from the Nassau G, a five minute walk to McCarren Park and to McGolrick Park. The apartment is on the second floor of a smaller house behind the main house, so it has backyards on either side and is very quiet and peaceful. The landlords live onsite in the apartment below and are quick to help with any issues. There is a clean laundromat a 2 minute walk away.
The room for rent comes unfurnished and has an east facing window and closet. Shared spaces are the kitchen, bathroom and living room. My roommate is moving out and taking most of the living room furniture with her, so furniture would be welcome!
Utilities are paid separately and come to around $100-125 a month. I like to keep a tidy space and ask that you would share in cleaning duties and not leave dishes sitting in the sink, etc. No smoking please.
I work out of the apartment Monday through Friday. I enjoy both being out enjoying the city and relaxing at home. If you like to host regularly it's probably not the best fit, but if we plan to have someone over as long as we give the other person a heads up that seems to work well.
I’m a 43 year old female who has been in New York for 4 years. I’m originally from Wisconsin, but I’ve moved around quite a bit, and I moved to NYC from Portland, Oregon for grad school. I studied Historic Preservation, and am currently working as a Collections Manager for a company that does fashion and art storage. I like being out exploring the city on bike or foot, love a good croissant and coffee, going thrifting/vintage shopping, and watching a good show/movie at home in the evenings. I’m a friendly introvert. I don’t have to be best friends with my roommate but it would be great to be friendly, to chat as we go in and out, and to let each other know if we’re going to out of town, etc.
We'd be signing a one year lease together. First month's rent and security deposit are due up front. Background check, credit check, and proof of income required.
I'd prefer to live with a 30+ female who is on the quieter side, considerate, and a good communicator.
Let me know a bit about yourself in your response!
I don't have any pets, but the landlords seem amenable to a cat!
