Spacious bedroom (154 sq. feet) in large 2 bedroom apartment share in upper Manhattan. Ample closet space outside room. A/C already installed. Rent includes utilities, high-speed Wi-Fi, cleaning (as in I will do the cleaning pf shared spaces) and household supplies. Room unfurnished but lamps, drawer space, and additional shared closet space available. Large, comfortable shared living room (220 sq. feet). Shared bathroom. Cozy eat-in kitchen. Laundry in building. Elevator in building. Super on site and responsive to the apartment needs and the building is well-maintained and quiet overall. Very quiet block close to J. Hood Wright Park and Columbia NYP Hospital and not far from Fort Tryon Park and The Met Cloisters. Also close to A/C/1 trains at 168th St and A train at 175th St.
I have lived in the apartment for almost 20 years because I love the space and the area so much. I am an upbeat, easygoing person who will give you your space but is friendly and available if needed. Above all I seek a quiet, peaceful home but the bedrooms are well separated so you can have privacy and play your music etc. I’m a therapist and work from home in the living room seeing patients via telehealth three days a week.
If you were to move in, you would sign a roommate agreement. 1 year-long rental - or longer - preferred. Six months considered. The understanding is to keep the apartment neat and clean. Always clean up after yourself in the shared spaces - kitchen, bathroom and living room. The little details matter. Clean your hair out of the drain, wipe off the table and stove when you’re done washing your dishes, you get the idea. I try my best to clean up after myself and be respectful and I expect that you will too.
Limited guests appreciated. Please no smokers and no heavy drinkers. No drug users. No hard partying or serial dating. No loud music or audio.
You can always reach out to me as needed if you have questions or concerns about the apartment - before and after you’re moved in. I am the primary tenant and my name is on the lease.
I will do the initial email screenings, then schedule brief interviews with likely candidates, ideally in person, if not on FaceTime or Zoom. If mutually agreeable, we will arrange to meet and see the apartment in person.
I am a quiet, considerate 49-year-old single woman (she/her/hers) who works as a therapist and works from home three days a week seeing patients via telehealth. I have guests over from time to time and expect that you will too. I try to stay healthy and enjoy yoga, live music, and all that NYC has to offer. I’m a New Yorker since 2002 and happy to help you get oriented if you are new to the city. I’m friendly and outgoing but respect your space and peace.
