Renting a sunny bedroom on the top floor of our Fort Greene brownstone for a NYC part-timer / pied-à-terre. $1,850/mo flat rate, utilities included.
For now, this is not a full-time roommate situation — we’re specifically looking for someone who’s in NYC some of the time, not all of the time. More on that below after you fall in love with this place!
THE HOUSE:
YOUR ROOM: On the top floor, sunny with two big windows, a deep closet, and built-in shelves. The bathroom / floor is shared with one other housemate. Room is (mostly) unfurnished but let us know if you need help getting items.
We’ve got three floors:
- 1st - a big eat-in kitchen with dishwasher + disposal, dining room, big cozy sitting room with a projector screen & fireplace, half bath, closets, bike storage
- 2nd - two bedrooms and a bathroom, and a sunny porch
- 3rd - two bedrooms (including the open one) and a bathroom, washer dryer, two offices, & bike storage.
Beautiful neighborhood, close to BAM, Barclays Center, Ft. Greene Park, restaurants on Dekalb and Fulton, Pratt, bodegas, grocery stores, coffee places, and this one creepy doll store I wouldn't recommend.
Located in Ft. Greene on Adelphi St. and Greene Ave, G train at Clinton-Washington or Fulton + C train at Lafayette + 2,3,4,5,N,Q,R,B,D and LIRR at Atlantic - Barclays Center stop.
The landlord & super are chill, plus getting packages delivered is easy!
THE HOUSEMATES:
Three of us buddies live here now: Tyler (37), Dan (38), and Brooke (33) – Tyler’s been living in the house for 10 years now, with a rotating set of friends. We’re considerate, tidy, and social. We like to host dinners, events, and the occasional party. We have no pets, but not against you having one. We work sometimes at home and sometimes at an office.
THE PART-TIME THING:
Our last housemate, Casey, moved out after a few years of just using the room the days he had to come down from Kingston for his office job (Mo-Thur most of the time, an occasional weekend). He liked it because we took care of all the house-upkeep, chores, & utilities, plus it was cheaper, more convenient, & more fun than ad hoc renting a hotel. We liked it because it meant there weren’t quite so many of us packed in here.
Now we’re on the hunt for another part-timer interested in a similar arrangement. What we’re thinking:
You pay a flat rate of $1,850/mo – no utilities, fees, or other shared cost.
You’re a part-timer, here sometimes but not all the time (open to different arrangements).
ARE YOU INTERESTED?
Write and let us know more about your part-time situation. Maybe you’re only here every other week, or just want a pied-a-terre for the weekends, or have an annoying return-to-work requirement for your job on weekdays?
Also include your full name, phone number, and a little more about you!
P.S. we likely have another full-time room opening up before June, so if you're keen but not a part-timer, let us know
