PLEASE NOTE: PET CARE REQUIRED FOR THIS SUBLET
This is the perfect space for a friendly, clean person, couple, or small family in need of a sublet. The rent is steeply reduced in exchange for the responsibility of sitting for my friendly and easygoing little cat, Pina. No other pets allowed -- she's a bit of a diva about her space.
DATES: Available starting Friday, August 22 until Sunday, Sept 7, though I can be a bit flexible on exact dates. Preference given to anyone who can rent for the full two weeks.
LOCATION: I'm on a quiet street right on the border of Clinton Hill and Bed Stuy. It's an 8 minute walk from the Classon Ave G or about a 10 minute walk to the Clinton-Washington C train stop, and it's right near a ton of amazing restaurants and literally one of the best bakeries and coffee shops in Brooklyn. It's an easy walk to several bodegas -- a gorgeous and very walkable neighborhood.
THE APARTMENT: Brownstone residence in the heart of Clinton Hill/Bed Stuy. The apartment boasts architectural elements such as crown moldings, exposed brick, and high ceilings, creating an ambiance of timeless elegance.
There's natural light streaming through the floor-to-ceiling windows in this floor-through Parlor level apartment, offering serene garden views. The interior features hardwood floors throughout, complemented by recessed lighting. The renovated kitchen is a chef's delight, complete with a breakfast nook, dishwasher, and an open layout that seamlessly flows into the living space. It's huge, quiet, and includes a big private terrace. Central air conditioning is included.
There's a big, quiet queen bedroom and a separate sleeper couch in the front room. Bathroom has great water pressure and the shower head is mounted high -- no need to stoop.
The kitchen is huge for NYC and has everything you'll need, including a dishwasher.
I've also got a projector set up to play Netflix, HBO, Hulu, and whatever else.
BUILDING: A classic Brooklyn brownstone. This is on the parlour level -- one half-flight of stairs outdoors, that's it.
CAT SITTING INCLUDES:
- feed wet food, morning and evening. Exact timing not important.
- scoop litter box once a week
- (I will leave you set up with plenty of food and litter.)
- companionship, cuddles, pets & play. She loves company, and she also loves to spend time on the patio when people are home (I leave the back door open for her and let in the fresh air. There's a bug screen.)
- Keep me posted that Pina is fine, or let me know if there's any issues.
- Maybe watering plants once or twice.
YOU: When you email, please tell me a little about yourself, and who'd be living here with you. Are you experienced with cats? Have you pet sit before? What brings you to Brooklyn?
ME: I'm a journalist and traveling for work, but I'm not the important one here!
THE CAT: Your actual cohabitant will be a little nugget named Pina (for the choreographer Pina Bausch). She's a playful 5 year old cat who loves to chase a laser pointer or string.
$1000 per week, inclusive of utilities (apartment includes air, wifi, electricity, gas for stove, etc)
$300 security deposit
Please provide a reference. Someone you've worked for or pet sit for. (No need to send this when you first email, unless you've got it on deck and want to.)
We'll sign a simple agreement outlining expectations on both ends for this one month sublet / catsit.
