We are seeking guest facilitators for our Dear Rosa monthly virtual support group: Roses & Thorns.
This group is a special space for our community to come together and connect. We are inviting guest facilitators based on a recent survey that we conducted with our community. They asked that we bring in voices who can provide education and support on topics including: healthy aging, love & relationships, self-care, grief, and conflict resolution. We are open to hearing new ideas as well! We imagine folks will propose facilitating one workshop, but welcome proposals that would take place over 1-3 workshops as well.
One example: A Grief and Bereavement Specialist facilitated psych-education on types of grief and then guided us through a discussion and creative exercise surrounding grief (that somehow left us all with an uplifted feeling, it was amazing!) This was a one-time workshop.
We meet virtually on the third Sunday of the month at 5pmEST. A member of our team would be logged on with you and provide tech support during your workshop. We would also meet beforehand to review your workshop ideas and our privacy policies.
The Dear Rosa Project is dedicated to amplifying the voices of women living with HIV/AIDS.
This project is dedicated to our dear and deeply missed Rosa, an extraordinary woman who left behind a very special legacy. Rosa had a practice of writing letters to herself. Letters where she reflected on her faith, her body, her loves, her joys, her pain, her spirit, and her future.
We began The Dear Rosa Project to share her words and create spaces where women can reflect on their own experiences. We use oral history practices to document and preserve the wisdom inherent in our community’s unique stories.
At the time of writing this, our community includes over 200 women.
We facilitate creative opportunities including theater and jewelry.
We facilitate opportunities to build sisterhood such as a monthly support group.
