About this Lister

Hi, I'm Laura - Owner and Lead Consultant at Uptown Consulting. My desire to see healthy, functional leadership and organizations started as a young teen when my parents left a coercive, high-control religious movement and moved us from the Bible Belt to Washington Heights, the “Little DR”. Over the next two decades, my love for Uptown Manhattan grew and I continued to heal and learn more about how a variety of organizations and their leaders flourish or languish in today’s entrepreneurial landscape.

My decade-long career as a high-level executive assistant changed my life. Seeing women in leadership roles, being the only women on corporate boards, and leading with their heads and hearts inspired me and cultivated my passion for ethical, consent-based, and sustainable business operations and ventures.

Background and Expertise

I've been a c-suite and high-net-worth executive assistant for entrepreneurs in NYC for over 10 years. During this time, I've led a variety of projects from the formation of a 501(c)3 early childhood center to the development of an early stage famtech startup and more. I am a skilled generalist, understanding both the quantitative and qualitative work and cross departmental management necessary to support creative business owners and their many initiatives. I am currently a member of the Project Management Institute and a member of the Association of Accredited Small Business Consultants.
