About this Service

The Mending Word is a creative grief writing group that meets virtually twice a month. In a 60 minute time slot, I provide grief-related materials and prompts for us to read together and discuss. After a short discussion, members are given time to free-write and then share.

I currently have the following 6 Session series that are beginning in the coming weeks:

Partner Loss Series
Parent, Child, Sibling Loss Series
Suicide Loss Series
Friend / Family Loss

About this Lister

The Mending Word was created shortly after I experienced the loss of my mother and father within two years. In the early days of my grieving, I yearned to find a place where I could write about my thoughts and share them freely with fellow grievers who understood. When I did not find a community, I decided to start one myself. I built this space for people who are looking to connect in a raw and honest way – ugly tears and dark humor welcome. If you’re ready to embrace your grief and hold space for others’, while forming beautiful connections with brave humans, I invite you to join The Mending Word Community.

Background and Expertise

Since it's inception in 2022, The Mending Word has hosted over 70 grievers in its workshop. You can find out more at www.themendingword.com
