Upper floor of a lovingly restored carpenter Gothic cottage. (On the National Register of Historic Places!) The apartment is sunny and sweet, with finished fir and pine floors and Victorian fixtures. A heat pump system provides heat and central a/c. You would pay electric. Note that one of the bedrooms is small and would work best as an office or a child's room (see floor plan). There's also a large landing that would be for your exclusive use.
Excellent, very walkable location: on the edge of the Stockade (restaurants, bakeries, bookstore, record stores, post office, etc.), walking distance from the burgeoning Broadway corridor (more restaurants, Central American grocery stores and food trucks, Tubby's—where great local and touring bands play, UPAC). A few minutes' walk to Kingston Plaza, which has a Hannaford supermarket, a big hardware store, an art supply store, etc. ~15-minute walk to the Trailways station, from which it is 2 hours by bus to NYC and 1 hour to Albany.
This is on an upper floor of an old house, so it's not very accessible for those with mobility concerns.
Laundry in the basement. Outdoor spaces: wrap-around porch; large, fenced back yard with a garden plot for your use.
Available October 1 or a little earlier if needed.
I am the owner and the contact person. I live in NYC but come to Kingston weekly. There is a handyman/superintendent living in the building.
I will be showing the apartment next Saturday (9/7). I might schedule another viewing the next week.
I am a she.
