The Room:
- This is a 3BR/1BA loft apartment, but only two people total will be living in the apartment.
- The room for rent is Bedroom 1 in the floor-plan diagram.
- North-facing double window that fits a standard window AC.
- The photo of the room shows the room furnished, but the furniture will be removed when the current tenant moves out.
The Apartment:
- Nearly 1,000 sq ft loft with 10.5 ft ceilings and hardwood floors.
- Although the apartment is a 3BR/1BA, I’m only renting out one room (Bedroom 1 in the floor-plan diagram), so two people share the bathroom and have access to the outdoor space (which is accessible by walking through Bedroom 2 in the layout image).
- The building was originally a factory that has been converted into residential loft apartments.
- The unit is on an elevated 1st floor (slightly above street-level).
- Furnished common area + room leading to a small outdoor patio (formerly a loading dock).
- Building has laundromat on-site. There's also a commercial laundromat about half a block away.
- Building entrance has a working intercom, a secured package room and an Amazon locker.
- Utilities are split evenly (Spectrum cable/WiFi $125/mo each, gas & electric vary seasonally).
Location Highlights:
- Southside of Williamsburg
- 3 blocks from Domino Park
- 12 min walk to Bedford Ave L and Marcy Ave JMZ
Who I'm looking to rent to:
- A female or gay male who wants a comfortable, quiet place to come home to.
- Ideally in their 30s-40s and working outside the apartment most of the week.
- A person who is respectful and easygoing - does dishes, takes out the trash, contributes to household basics.
- Must like dogs.
- No indoor smoking, no live-in partners, no additional pets. Looking for 1 roommate only.
- Looking for a minimum 6-month stay, with the possibility to extend.
- I’m a cis woman in my 40’s working in fashion and design. I’m into culture in all forms - from art and fashion to music and pop culture.
- I've lived in the apartment since 2015 and plan to continue to stay in the apt. long term.
- I’m friendly, easygoing and drama-free but not overly chatty or intrusive.
- I enjoy having a few friends over now and then, but this isn’t a party apartment.
- I currently work from home but typically work a hybrid schedule of 2 days from home/3 in an office. I'm in my room the majority of the day when I'm working from home.
- I always pay bills on time and keep common spaces clean and tidy.
- I have a 14 year old, 50 lb coon-hound mix dog, so I can't accept any more pets in the apartment. I'm a responsible pet owner - the dog is house-trained, is not destructive and has a walker on weekdays. She’s gentle but barks at the door buzzer and at unfamiliar guests when they walk into the apartment until they become acquainted. Fairly typical dog behavior, but I want anyone considering this space to be aware. She has light colored hair that sheds, so I vacuum and clean frequently and brush her outside often. That said, if you are offended by the possibility of getting dog hair on your socks or clothes, this is not a good fit.
1st month's rent + $2175 security deposit upon move-in.
Valid government ID, 2 references, last 3 months of paystubs. Must sign a Roommate Agreement.
