Charming corner lot home in established, treed area known as Mount Baker. The lakefront and parkways were designed by the Olmstead Brothers in 1917. Historic period architecture lines the streets of the lushly treed neighborhood. It is a nature lover's and walker's paradise.
The flat is 645 sq ft and is separate from the upper level where I live when in Seattle. I travel frequently! When home, we would share the laundry w/d, just off the kitchenette area (see photo).
The kitchen has a two burner elec cooktop. There is a new microwave and a full size fridge. Adjoining the kitchenette is an interior lockable "front door" to the flat.
The first space/room you enter into off the kitchenette, features two mirrored 6' long closets. This area would make a cozy writing studio or workout space.
If you like gardening you are welcome to plants herbs or tomatoes in the organic bed in the back yard. For a guest staying 6 months or longer, there is a 9' barrel cedar sauna (rent would increase $125/mo over your lease term to cover extra utility expense).
Beyond the studio/lounge's french doors you step into the largest room (see photo). Currently there is an upholstered queen bed frame and a new full size mattress (i like a "shelf"space within reach from bed for books). ** updated photos to be posted soon. There are opening windows for fresh air and light. There is a large walk-in closet with wire shelving in the corner next to the bath (shower, toilet, sink, medicine cabinet, a quiet ceiling fan) and an opening window.
Both rooms have new low-cut pile carpeting and a premium pad. If you are a painter, I ask you create in the kitchenette area or we can discuss a heavy canvas tarp in the studio area.
A fun, quirky feature is the entrance to the flat - there is an exterior door that has been built into the single car garage door.
This is your de facto front door - but its on the side of the house. If you have a car, you would park in the driveway.
Whilst away, my car is stored inside the garage, but there is ample room to walk past into the kitchenette from a fireproof door.
I have attempted to be thorough in my description so there are no surprises. If you need clarification, you can reach me via the site ad.
It is a short 10 min walk to the closest light rail station, known as the Mount Baker station (see Sound Transit map for coverage and locations of stations). You can get to the airport in 22 mins. This is a great resource for getting around the city without a car.
The home's location is central and close to the airport, downtown Bellevue and Seattle, Lake Washington, West Seattle.
One stop away (known as the Beacon Hill station) is a bustling n'hood with lots of dining options and pubs. Mount Baker has its own too, but Beacon Hill wins hands down! There is a library as well. If you choose to walk, a short 20 min gets you up the hill to North Beacon Hill.
There is a plethora of hiking and biking trails. Recreational activities abound nearby. There is a tennis center in the neighborhood - Amy Yee with indoor and outdoor courts. And of course, Seattle must have its pickleball as it was created locally on Bainbridge Island.
Mount Baker is Seattle's quintessential historical, charming neighborhood.
Thanks for your time in reading.
p.s. - Gas heating, elec cooking, supplemental radiator heat and dehumidifier if you desire.
The home is on a maturely landscaped corner lot with lots of beautiful homes surrounding. There is a park at the end of the block.
I volunteer for two nonprofits - one in the US and one in South Africa. I serve as the right hand for the founder. We make documentary films to uplift and inspire. We also create social impact projects to bring employment to underserved communities. We are beginning a new chapter in 2026 that we are very excited about, expanding our impact in film and media.
I am the owner of this beautiful home. I consider it an honor to be a part in caring for this small piece of Earth; caretaking the local birds, squirrels, trees, shrubs, flowers and hummingbirds,
It would be awesome if you value the same and find joy in doing so.
