About this Service

Individual artist mentorship sessions where we tackle whatever you're actually facing right now. Exhibition prep and which galleries make sense for your work. Getting unstuck from creative blocks. Pricing without apologizing. Artist statements that don't sound like everyone else's. Building real relationships in the art world instead of just collecting business cards. Portfolio organization. Grant applications. That experimental phase you're nervous about leaning into. Goal setting that actually sticks.
30 or 50-minute sessions via Zoom or in-person in LA. Your timeline, your challenges, your goals. No generic advice—just focused support from someone who gets it because I'm doing it too.

About this Lister

I'm an artist and curator who's spent 11 years working with hundreds of artists who felt stuck or scattered and were ready to move with intention. I run Shoebox Arts, a community-driven artist support network in LA. I curate exhibitions, write about art, and spend a lot of time thinking about how artists actually build sustainable careers—not the fairy tale version, the real one with rejection and uncertainty and slow progress and sudden breakthroughs.
I'm less interested in telling you what to do and more interested in helping you figure out what makes sense for YOUR practice and YOUR goals.

Background and Expertise

11 years running Shoebox Arts, supporting artists at every career stage. Artist and curator with firsthand experience navigating galleries, grants, exhibitions, and the weird social dynamics of the art world. I've hosted hundreds of artists through critique groups, mentorship programs, and community conversations. Guest speakers I've brought in include art critics, curators, gallerists, and artists like Shana Nys Dambrot, Kim Abeles, April Bey, and Sharon Louden.
I've helped artists land gallery representation, win grants, prepare for studio visits, build their first real websites, price their work without underselling themselves, and just generally stop feeling like they're doing everything wrong. Active in the LA art community—I know who's doing what and how different spaces actually operate.
