I am renting out my room in Astoria from September '25 until August '26. It is a large room with two closets (one I will leave empty for your use and the other for my storage). The shared space includes a large living room, a decent-sized bathroom, and a hallway kitchen. There is also a balcony going off the living room and big windows. It's the third and top floor of a small walk-up building by Steinway. There are two things worth noting about the apartment:
1. You will be living with my roommate Allen, who is a professional cellist. He practices cello most days from dinner time until 9:30pm. He's very gifted, but that might not be the best time for calls.
2. We pay for heat, so the utilities can reach 300 a person in the winter. It averages about 200 a month.
We've been rent stabilized, so this is a great deal on a convenient neighborhood in NYC.
You'll be living with my roommate, Allen. Allen is a PhD student, professional cellist and tends to keep to himself and his room.
My landlord needs approval on the sublet. So a strong credit score, proof of income, and/or a guarantor would be helpful. Additionally, I'm asking for first month's rent and security deposit to move in. I am available to tour the apartment starting in August. Until then, I just have images.
