Looking for a new housemate to join our lovely, high-ceilinged Bushwick 3BR apartment, for a November 1st move in. Rent is $1300 with additional roughly $100 a month for utilities. Building has central heat and air which is a dream.

The apartment is the top floor of a three story walk up building, with a spacious railroad style dining/kitchen area on the first floor and a full loft living room above. The shared spaces receive beautiful natural light throughout the day via skylights and each bedroom has large windows (and a closet).

It’s conveniently located within a 4 minute walk from both the L and M subway lines (at Knickerbocker and Dekalb), which makes commuting incredibly easy. Street itself is quiet but remains a short walk from grocery, hardware, pharmacies, anything you need. Great bars and restaurants nearby.

The available room is cozy with lovely west facing windows that get great evening light. Past roommate fit full king-sized bed as well as a desk and extra clothing rack. The room will be unfurnished.

We’re looking for someone who is thoughtful and warm, and respectful. Cleanliness is important, as well as an investment in taking care of the shared space.

I'm Miles (he/him), 27, working as a server and studying for law school, also a staff writing for a comedy site. I’m originally from the Seattle and I've been in New York almost two years, both in this apartment. I work evenings mostly and usually around some in the early afternoons.

Down to be friends or just respectful cohabitants, got along great with my past roommates who've both just moved out after two years (one in with their partner, one to Europe).

No hard and fast rules, but important to be intuitive and accommodating to each others’ schedules and needs. I'm clean but not a neat freak, just being considerate of one another and the shared areas is what matters.

Love the space and looking for someone who wants to contribute to making a well cared for low-stress home.

Rental requirements

Will need to be approved by landlord: typical documentation (ie credit check, paystubs, guarantor if applicable, etc) required. $1300 security deposit and first month to move in. We would need to meet and chat and tour the unit, then I'd send your contact info to building management for approval. Move in date is November 1st or anytime after.
