Are you interested in entering on the so-called “ground floor” of an exciting beautiful small retreat sanctuary and community? Have you ever dreamed of living in a magnificent magical setting with like-minded/hearted people? I am creating a permaculture-based retreat sanctuary in Central Portugal where people are encouraged and supported to function at the highest level of their own potential
Emphasis is on consciously interacting in all aspects of (visible and invisible ) life with authentic kindness and consideration of self, other, world and Source.
“Vale d’Agua Viva” is becoming a gorgeous small retreat sanctuary /community in Central Portugal
The space is built, the workshops are happening and now I am looking for a person or couple who would like to take on maintaining and improving the property
( including 3 houses and outlying gardens and orchard)
Some gardening experience necessary, permaculture background ideal, skills in carpentry and maintaining houses also required. Speaking Portuguese, optimal but not necessary
This position is ideally open ended and would include helping me establish and co- create the community
Housing valued at (€800 / month exchange for 20/ hrs week work
Additional work( optimally 5-10 additional hours) would be compensated at10€/ hr)

Hi, I’m Carole. I moved to Portugal 3 yrs ago with a vision to create a sanctuary ( kinda garden of Eden style) , full of food for body mind and soul, where people plants and animal thrive from each other’ s company and nourishment
I’ve had 3 phases in the project :
First to create the space and repurpose an abused spit of land bordered by a canal
And a river, into a magical nurturing environment.
Second to start holding g retreats here
And third, to build a community of people who thrive in this situation
During the past 52 yrs I have created an approach to life I call “Living Inquiry”- living the inquiry of who you are and what you are doing on the planet at this time.
The work emerged out of a 52 yr professional (Jungian based) clinical practice and ongoing deep personal diving into psycho/ spiritual embodiment. I moved to Portugal in order to take Living Inquiry out of a clinical setting and form a community based on its principles ( see Livinginquirymaui.com )
