Job Title: Editing Agency Manager

Location: Fully remote

Commitment: 10 - 20+ hours per week (flexible, based on candidate preference)

Company Description: Our company provides resources, events, and services for aspiring writers. We have a growing agency side of the business that matches writers with editors to work on their manuscript via developmental editing, line editing, and book coaching services. We have a growing audience of nearly 100,000 followers across social media platforms, as well as an active newsletter of 25,000 subscribers.

About Our Team and Culture: We are a small, dedicated team of part-time creatives focused on delivering best-of-class service to our writers. Our team is committed to supporting writers, creatives, and parents, making it an ideal work environment for those who wish to dedicate time to their own writing, creative pursuits, and/or family.

Work is largely done independently and asynchronously. We respect work-life balance, avoid early mornings, evenings, and weekends, and have very few meetings. We create a supportive, nurturing environment for all team members. Although we are only a year old, our company is growing rapidly, offering room for growth and the exciting opportunity to help shape and develop our future.

Role Description: We are looking for an industry-savvy, highly-organized Editing Agency Manager to join our small but growing team. You will support the agency side of the business and help manage writer-editor connections and guide both sides of the agency through the process. You will work directly with Lauren to not only manage the agency side but innovate and grow the business in response to feedback from writers and editors.


Engage with editors and writers regularly both on video calls and over email

Respond to editors and writers in a timely manner to ensure seamless communication across time zones

Manage a CRM of writers and editors, including contact information, task management, and automation management

Support other business operations as needed, including special projects and events

Availability / Hours:

Some availability between the hours of 10am and 5pm EDT; must be able to respond to emails at least once each morning and once each afternoon


Prior work or educational experience in writing, editing, publishing, or another literary field

Strong background in customer service or client-facing roles, with an emphasis on clear, professional communication

Experience handling client inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring client satisfaction

Experience with project management, including managing deadlines, coordinating tasks, and ensuring smooth communication across different stakeholders

Passion for the literary world and supporting aspiring writers

High level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all communications and project management tasks

Proven ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Self-starter who can take initiative and manage 20+ deals independently

Comfortable with tools like Monday, Calendly, Zoom, and Slack. Able to quickly learn new software and systems as needed.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to handle day-to-day communications as well as escalations as needed

Display empathy, kindness, and the ability to build trust with writers quickly
