We're seeking a female or non-binary renter, 30s-50s, no pets or guests. Must be extremely clean and organized.
Apartment / Room:
• The apartment is on the 1st floor of an older townhouse. Hardwood floors throughout. The room has two full east-facing window, providing plenty of sunlight in a generally quiet setting. A couple of entry steps lead to the apartment floor.
• There is a sizable storage space and a built-in closet where you can keep your suitcases, coats.
• The room will come furnished with a daybed, sheets, a pillow, a dresser, a standing desk, office chair, and cabinet available for you to use if you’d like.
Common Areas:
• The kitchen, bathroom, and living area will be the shared spaces.
• The kitchen is a galley kitchen and big by NY standards. There's a new gas stove and refrigerator. I like to cook at home. You can use kitchen appliances as you want (water filter, electric kettle, Vitamix, French Press, Espresso Maker.)
• The bathroom is extremely small for NY standards. There will be space for storage though.
• There is an outdoor deck and a huge garden for sitting and gardening, if you have a green thumb.
• There are ceiling fans, no A/C.
Neighborhood:
South Park Slope - The apartment itself is a 8-minute walk to the Seventh Ave F/G train or 8 minute walk to Prospect Ave R train. Close to Union Market, bodegas, study centers, laundry across the street, cafes, and 2 YMCA branches. Prospect Park is two avenues away. There are also two Citibike stands two blocks away.
Vibes:
You are preferably working full-time, off-site/out-of-home, low key and are financially responsible. Cleanliness is *the most important* factor to me to prevent pests and bedbugs so I expect the renter to participate in keeping the communal areas (kitchen, bathroom, living space, walk-through) clean, especially the kitchen and bathroom. This is a no outdoor shoes/outdoor clothes indoors kinda space. You must be proactive wiping things down, leaving the space in the condition that you found it. In short, please be a nice person who is willing to do their share of the work to keep the space clean.
Another key quality I'm looking for is someone who values quietness. I’d really like the apartment to be a peaceful place to unwind and recharge after work and over the weekends.
Extension: If this is a good fit, we can discuss extending to a longer rental.
