Retail Team Member – Glad & Young Studio at Macy’s 34th Street

Glad & Young Studio is looking for creative, outgoing, and energetic individuals to join our team for an exciting retail pop-up inside Macy’s iconic 34th Street store this holiday season!
We handcraft colorful, playful leather goods in Atlanta, GA, and for the first time, we’re bringing our custom bag experience to New York City. As part of our team, you’ll help customers design one-of-a-kind bags, create memorable shopping experiences, and share the joy of handmade craftsmanship.

The Connector Position is customer-facing and customer service / experience-driven. Our sales floor is one of the most unique shopping experiences out there and this role will be responsible for introducing and building a connection between shoppers and our brand. Our connector team is directly responsible for helping build memorable and unique experiences with Glad and Young and ensuring that all interactions are a reflection of who we are as a company. We sell products, but more so we are selling an experience and building connections. Utilize buzz words that speak to our why and our ethos- "Low waste, handmade, woman-owned, marbling all one-of-a-kind."

What You’ll Do:
- Welcome and engage customers with enthusiasm and warmth
- Assist with custom bag designs and guide customers through the Glad & Young experience
- Share product knowledge and the story behind Glad & Young Studio
- Operate point-of-sale system and handle transactions
- Help maintain a fun, inspiring, and organized retail space

Responsibilities include:
- Working shifts consistent with your provided availability
- Agility and understanding - we are a small business & team; things change quickly and often
- Creating best-in-class, boutique, and memorable experiences for customers
- Understanding of the products & brand, communicating this to the guests
- Clear communication of the booth & customer needs - updating team, proactively noting the shop’s needs
- Custom foil stamping and demonstrating custom foil stamping
- Learning proper + safe use of leather hand tools and machinery
