Hi! We have a slot available at our shared recording studio in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Available Jan 1st or Jan 15 if we don't find the right fit.

The studio has everything you need for tracking, rehearsing, and mixing. I have client sessions and I use the space for rehearsing and writing. Some of the other folks in the studio-share use the space strictly for rehearsing their instrument or working on their music outside of their apartments. It's not an intimidating space, and we have everything you need for quality recordings. (One of the guys in the share brings his own recording interface and never even touches the studio gear, so it's up to you how technical you want to get.)

Technical things:
We have a vocal booth with talkback and monitoring setup to a Scarlett 18i20 interface. If you have your own interface, it can be patched in easily to our monitor controller. We have available rackmount slots on the desk if you want to patch in your own gear and there is a bit of available storage space if you need to store some of your own gear.

Monitors - DynAudio BM5s and Adam A7x's. We have a foot switch for optional referencing with a sub.

Fender Rhodes!

Vintech 1272 dual mic pre's, patch bay, several amps (orange, marshall, Fender Deluxe, + a bass cab). Solid mics (421's, U67 and some others), fully stocked cable closet, mic stands, 2 drumsets (one is DW) and a brand new QSC PA for rehearsing. We have a beautiful upright piano that we try to tune yearly.

The slot gets you two bookings per week, and we ask that you book no more than 6 hour slots so that more than one person can book within a day if needed (although rare). Booking is done on a shared Google calendar. There are usually 3-4 unused days/week meaning there are plenty of openings and it's easy to book time for yourself. Late night sessions are OK, the building is full of art studios and nobody bothers you if you jam out at 1am.

Women, GNC and trans folks are welcome and prioritized!

The studio is on the 3rd floor and there is a commercial elevator that can be reserved, although there isn't a passenger elevator. Bathroom, kitchenette and lounge area shared with other spaces on the floor.

About This Lister

My name is Rosana Cabán and I help run the space. I'm a professor and freelance engineer/musician/sound artist. You likely won't ever see me (or any of the other folks in the space) but you'll hear from me periodically when I announce new gear additions to the space, or if I request help with maintenance from time to time (maybe once a year).

Landlord is across the hall and has a full live room/console/tracking situation. He doesn't bother us. I think he likes having another music studio in the floor! The other studios are mostly art/photography spaces.
