I’m moving in with my partner and looking for someone to take over my half of a railroad style, flex 2-bedroom in prime Hell’s Kitchen (close to major trains and all that the neighborhood has to offer, but far enough from Times Square to be quiet, clean, and residential). The lease is through May 30, 2026 with potential to renew.
You’d have the large, sunny true bedroom and a bonus space (ideal for home office) with a private entrance. The roommate occupies the middle section of the unit, so you can either walk through (he doesn’t mind!) or around via the hallway to access the kitchen, living room, and bathroom. Given the railroad layout, it’s an idea setup for someone who wants a spacious room of their own but is flexible about the quirks of the shared space.
Your room itself is oversized, has 2 large windows for tons of natural light, a decorative fireplace, wall-mounted TV, and 2 large closets. The bonus space functions well as a home office, since it has an additional entrance to the unit and nobody needs to pass through your space. Since it’s a railroad apartment, the central part of the unit is the other roommate’s space, separated by curtains from your private spaces and from the common areas (kitchen, small living room, bathroom) at the other end.
You’d be living with my current roommate Ben, 26, who works in computer install and repair. He’s a kind and friendly guy who mostly keeps to himself. His hobbies include art, scifi/fantasy, and collecting/fixing up/taking apart old tech, so he’s got an eclectic array of parts and gadgets on display, but he keeps them in his own space.
The common areas will be fully furnished, but you’re also welcome to make the space your own. No laundry, but there’s a wash & fold right downstairs that I recommend.
Feel free to reach out for more info, and I can set up a time for you to see the apartment and meet Ben! Please include your qualifications, a bit about yourself, and confirmation that you understand and are ok with the railroad setup.
I’m the current tenant! The description really says it all, but to reiterate — I’m moving in with my partner and looking for someone to take over my half of a railroad-style, flex 2-bedroom in prime Hell’s Kitchen. I’ve been here for over two years, and it’s been a great place to live and grow, so I really want to be intentional about finding the right person to take it over.
Happy to answer any questions — just shoot me a text at the number below :-)
1. Could you share your yearly income and credit score? The landlord will need those details (ideally 40x rent and 650 credit).
2. What’s your intended move-in date?
3. Having read the description, are you comfortable with the roommate setup?
