Hi! I found a $3700 3 bed 1 bath apartment in east Harlem (119th st between 1st and 2nd ave), I love the apartment and I’m looking for roommates to come into it with me. The three bedrooms are all fantastic, and it would be 1200isn each. There is a huge kitchen, huge bathroom, huge dining room, huge living room, separate office/den in addition to the living room, then the 3 bedrooms; all have nice closets and windows, and great space. Includes laundry in the unit but tenants have to pay water because of that, which feels fair to me. It’s a 3rd floor walk up in a nice brownstone, and it’s the whole floor so there are many windows and so much light! Landlord lives on the ground floor of the brownstone. I really love this spot, so while I was initially looking to come into a place as a roommate, I figured I’d jump on this and see if I can find likeminded folks to come in with me. It’s a great neighborhood.
Move-in would be Jan 1.
Let me know if you have any questions! I’m motivated to get this apartment because it feels like a good fit, and I’ve never seen anything in this price range that’s so roomy and nice, and since the landlord only owns this brownstone and lives there, she’s assured me she’s really on top of any issues/repairs.
She really wants non-smokers in this apartment, because she hates cigarette smoke and doesn’t want people smoking on her stoop, so that’s one limitation. Also no pets.
Happy to chat further!
About me: 34F, working at a museum in Yonkers full time, and do a little serving/bartending on the side, so I’m out of the house a lot. I’m very chill and openminded to all kinds of folks, I think as long as we respect each other, have some fun, and are mindful to keep common spaces decent, it works well. I’ve had a lot of roommates who have become friends and I’ve always had great roommate experiences! I’m happy to let people have their own time/space (which would be easy with such a spacious apartment), but I’m also always happy to chat, connect, and make plans together to have a good time. I don’t want to be strangers with the people I live with. Personally, I’m an art lover, and I spend a good amount of free time going to museum exhibitions, gallery openings, etc. I also love cooking and am always down for a roommate dinner or wine night every so often. I’m excited to do more of this in NYC, and have a lot of family and friends in the area too. I’m open to roommates of any gender or age.
