The Unit:
The apartment is located in the heart of Bed-Stuy, close to Tompkins Ave., Herbert Von King Park, and only a 5-minute walk to the C Train at Kingston-Throop.
The building has a basement gym that’s free to use for all tenants, as well as a finished roof deck with furniture. The unit was recently refurbished and has all modern appliances (in-unit washer/dryer, modern kitchen with a dishwasher, A/C and heat in each room, etc.). This will be the fourth year for one of us and the second year for another living in this unit, and we’ve had no real issues!
The apartment has 3 bedrooms, a combined kitchen/living room/common area, and two full bathrooms, one with a standing rainfall shower and the other has a tub/shower. The common area already includes a couch, coat hanger, shoe racks, shelves, and maybe a few other small items. The kitchen is fully equipped, and we already have most dishes and utensils, but we could add a few more things if needed.
The Room:
($1350 a month + security deposit)
This available bedroom is a bit cozier, but has plenty of space to accommodate what you need. The previous tenants have fit a queen-size bed, dresser, and desk into this space with plenty of leftover room. It comes with a closet, in-room AC/Heater, and a large window which lets in a good amount of light. The room faces a quiet backyard.
About Us:
You will share the apartment with 2 queer people (he/him and he/they) in their thirties, both established working professionals – one in graphic design and the other in the arts – with jobs in the city. During weekdays, we are often at work, and work from home one or two days a week, but not on a regular schedule, and tend to work out of our rooms without much noise, apart from occasional work calls. As we are quite busy, we like to keep evenings and weekends at home quiet and calm to relax. Both of us tend to be rather introverted-extroverts, don’t bring the party home, and usually keep to ourselves in our individual rooms, but also socialize and check in from time to time.
We both like to keep the space clean, usually doing a good cleaning once a week, shared between the roommates/flatmates, just so that things are tidy. We like to live by the rule of respecting each other in the shared household and leaving common spaces tidy for each other. We both have many years of experience living with roommates/flatmates, including internationally. We appreciate good, clear communication and understanding about sharing an apartment, and like to have some shared time among the flatmates to socialize and check in with each other from time to time.
About You:
We are ideally looking for another person with a somewhat similar lifestyle, who wants a nice little haven away from the city, a place that feels cozy and homey. We are open to all levels of sociability, so whether you’re a total introvert or total extrovert, we can get along well. That being said, we are looking for someone who isn’t going to bring the party home or host frequently, and is generally courteous/conscious when it comes to their roommates. When it comes to keeping the space clean, as said before, we tend to tidy after ourselves, so ideally looking for the third roommate who will do the same (just the standard stuff—washing dishes, dividing chores, etc.), but definitely nothing too much, we’re all busy.
Looking for 1 roommate only, no pets allowed, and ideally not working from home full-time.

Please send us an email with a little bit about you, and include the word sunshine in the title, and we can arrange a time to meet and show you the space!
Lease signing will require the first month’s rent and a security deposit (equal to one month’s rent as well), and will require an application and credit check by the landlord.
