I have a room for rent in Ridgewood available May 1. I am looking for someone willing to join the lease for 1 year. The apartment is in a great location, 5 minutes from the Forest Ave M, and 10 minutes from Myrtle-Wyckoff L train. It's convenient to many Ridgewood local favorites like Cassette, Pizzeria Panina, etc. Close walk to many local bars, restaurants and local grocery/ bodegas. I love this apartment and have lived here for the past 5 years.
The apartment is newly renovated, bright and sunny, with a gorgeous kitchen with dishwasher. There is in-unit laundry, and central heat/ AC. The apartment is on the second floor. The living space is fully furnished, with a well-stocked kitchen with most kitchen essentials you’d need.
You would be sharing the apartment with me (Elizabeth) and my two cats, Kimchi and Miso (no other pets, please).
The apartment is a 3 bed/ 1 bath. The 3rd bedroom is a shared office space, and depending on your interests/storage needs we can talk about how to share this space in a way that makes sense. My current roommate and I share it as an office/ music studio and split the closet space.
About the room for rent:
The room measures roughly 12x8 and has a large closet. The bedroom window gets good sunlight, and has space for a full or queen bed plus desk.
What I’m looking for in a roommate:
-Someone who is a good communicator, independent, mature & self-aware, loves cats, potentially enjoys cooking together (or enjoys trying what I make!), and hopefully also appreciates art/ music! The space is usually relatively quiet, though sometimes I host small dinner parties or have friends over. I also recently got a beautiful upright piano in the living space.
-Someone who can reliably pay rent + utilities on or prior to the 1st of each month
-A clean and respectful person who is willing to share household cleaning/ responsibilities
I am a PhD candidate/ adjunct prof age 35 (she/her), musician/creative, and split my time at home/ working on campus during the school year.
I love cooking, hosting small dinner parties with friends every once in a while, and experiencing/ talking about music, fashion, art & food culture. I value hospitality and having a space that feels welcome and like home to anyone that comes into the space.
Rent is $1700 on the first of the month, which will be arranged directly with the landlord upon lease signing. I believe the landlord will do an income verification and ask for 1 month's deposit.
Utilities are separate: Internet and Electricity will be split equally
