We're looking for a new roommate! Our apartment is located in Lefferts Gardens, Brooklyn, off the 2/5 and 3/4 subway lines (about 12 min and 15 min walk respectively), between Kingston and Brooklyn avenues. The bedroom you'd fill would be available September 1. You'd live with two friendly, quiet, and clean creatives. Rent: $901.07/month.
The apartment is modern, with a washer/dryer in the unit, individual heat and A/C units in each room, two ovens, two kitchen sinks, plenty of cabinet and closet space, big windows, a balcony, a trash chute and elevator in the hallway, and access to a small gym. There's a grocery store and a dry cleaner on the same block as the building. And you'd be near Prospect Park (15-20 min. walk away), Franklin, and Downtown Brooklyn (the latter two just a couple stops away on the subway).
There are 4 other units on our floor. The neighborhood is very residential and usually pretty quiet. Within the apartment, we occasionally have guests over, but usually this is our quiet oasis where we recharge.
You'd share a bathroom with a female roommate -- the other roommate has their own bathroom. For utilities, you'd pay, on average, between $150-200 per month including internet, gas/heat, and electricity. If you're looking for a new home, we'd love to have you over to see the place! Please message if you have any questions, or if you'd like to set up a viewing time.
S- she/her. Executive Assistant by day, writer by night. In office on weekdays. Enjoys travelling, cooking, and reading. A tidy introvert. (But always happy to say hello and chat about your day!)
I - she/they. Playwright/Freelance writer and artist. Flexible schedule, either working from home or from my studio. Partnered. Clean, respectful of your space but also down to talk whenever!
Our landlord requires that any new roommate complete an application process. In addition to an application, they require the following documentation:
*A letter of employment stating your position, length and gross annual income on company letterhead
*A copy of your three (3) most recent pay stubs
*A copy of your W-2 or the front page of your income tax statement
*A full copy (first to last page) of your three (3) most recent bank statements
*A copy of your social security card
*A clear copy of your driver license
You would apply directly with our landlord (so all your documentation would remain between you and them).
