Neighborhood

Bushwick, Brooklyn

Transportation

L, M, and J/Z trains

Size

94 sq. ft.

My roommate Vernes and I need a third tenant for our apartment in Bushwick. The apartment is on the first floor, has a recently-updated interior, a large kitchen with a dishwasher, central AC/heating, laundry in the building, and a backyard. The available room is situated at the front of the apartment and has its own en-suite bathroom (with a bathtub, WOW!) and a large southeast-facing window with beautiful natural light. Room dimensions are 10.75 x 8.75’. Please note that this room does not have its own closet, but we do have a communal closet for coats & suitcases.

The neighborhood is residential, with a mix of families and other young adults occupying the area. Luckily, our neighbors are pretty quiet! We are situated 0.3 miles from the Central Ave M stop and Kosciuszko J stop, and 0.6 miles from the Dekalb L stop. A Blink gym is located 0.4 miles away, and there are a variety of grocery stores nearby. We’re in proximity to all the fun restaurants and night life Bushwick has to offer, but in an area that feels relaxed.🌳

About This Lister

Anya:

My name is Anya, I'm 25 y/o, and my pronouns are she/her. I’m an engineer at a jewelry brand, and I'm originally from Northern Virginia, but have been living in Bushwick (in this apartment!) for three years. I work 9-5, so I tend to be gone all day and spend weeknights cooking and hanging out in the apartment.

I'm somewhat of a neat freak -- I like to keep the living room picked up and I always clean up after myself when cooking. I tend to go to bed early and wake up early (10pm-6am), but I love the occasional late night out.

Looking for someone with a similar living style to share our home :) I love pop music, art, working out, and evening walks to Mr. Lemon🍋

Vernes:

Hi, I’m Vernes — 26, he/him, originally from Copenhagen, Denmark, and now based in New York City, where I’ve been living for the past few years. I work as a Policy Advisor at the United Nations, with an in-person schedule that often comes with long hours.

I’m super tidy and a self-proclaimed neat freak who finds joy in a clean, well-organized home. Fitness is a big part of my routine — I rotate between the gym, reformer pilates, dance classes, and pickleball.

I love to travel, read books, go to concerts, and have an occasional night out dancing, while mostly enjoying a quiet night at home. Pop culture is my passion — especially pop music and anything Real Housewives (Atlanta, Salt Lake City, Beverly Hills — I’m hooked).

Lister's Relationship to the Space

Rental requirements

This is a queer friendly household, and we keep things very tidy in common spaces!

If you are interested, please tell us a bit about yourself and we may reach out to schedule a time for you to come see the place and chat with us.

If it’s a good fit, you will submit a rental application through our building management’s portal. Please note that they require proof of income, an application fee of $20, and a deposit of one month's rent.
Generally, the landlord likes to meet with prospective tenants before finally approving the application.

This room is available as soon as September 8th! However, we can be flexible and prorate the rent accordingly. We are looking for someone who will move in as soon as possible, and sign onto our lease (which ends on July 31st, 2026).
