About the Space
The apartment is a sunny 3-bedroom, 1-bath on the 4th floor of a small walk-up building in North Williamsburg, just a couple blocks from McCarren Park. It’s not a high-rise — just a 2018 classic Brooklyn walk-up with a few neighbors and an electronic doorman, which keeps things simple. The building is well-kept, though there’s no elevator, so it isn’t wheelchair accessible.

Inside the apartment, the vibe is clean, bright, and functional. Hardwood floors, large windows, two private balconies, an in-unit washer/dryer, dishwasher, and HVAC in every room make it very comfortable year-round. The shared kitchen is fully stocked (I cook a lot and keep plenty of spices on hand), and the living space is cozy and uncluttered. The extra third bedroom is set up as a studio but could also be used as a home office if you’d like more space.

The room available is the largest in the apartment. it can come furnished or unfurnished. if furnished, you’d be buying a bed, bedframe, dresser, and standing desk in the spare room for $600 total. if you don’t need the furniture, the room can be cleared out. there’s no built-in closet, but there’s plenty of space for wardrobes or clothing racks. it’s bright, private, and easy to make your own.

The culture of the apartment is respectful and relaxed. I keep things organized, value communication, and like the home to feel calm. It’s not a party spot — I’m usually out teaching or training — but I’m friendly and open to sharing the space with someone who also enjoys a balanced home environment.

The neighborhood is one of the best parts: McCarren Park is a few blocks away, with plenty of coffee shops, bars, and restaurants nearby. It’s a short walk to Graham Ave (L train) and Lorimer/Metropolitan (G train), so getting into Manhattan or around Brooklyn is easy. Grocery stores, gyms, and all the daily essentials are within a few blocks.

About This Lister

i’m jacob, 33, gay, originally from the bay area and living in nyc for the past six years. i work full-time as a fitness professional and yoga teacher, which means i’m often out teaching, training, or traveling. i’ve been teaching for 13 years and also lead international retreats.

outside of work, i love to travel, cook, make cold brew, and spend time in the sun. i enjoy going out dancing once in a while, though most mornings i’m up early for classes. i don’t drink much, but i’ll happily enjoy a cocktail now and then. i do smoke and i engage with cannabis.

at home i keep things clean, organized, and easy to share. i always make an effort to keep the dishwasher clear and the space flowing well. communication is really important to me, and i value living with someone who’s open, considerate, and adult about sharing space. i don’t bring the party home and rarely have guests over, though i’ll occasionally host a friend in the spare room with plenty of notice.

my friends and family are a big part of my life, i work out and walk a lot, and i’m usually out and about. i’d love to live with someone who values a calm, respectful home and is also open to building a friendly roommate vibe.
