Part-Time Caregiver for Female Young Adult with Autism-Sundays

We’re looking for a caring, creative, and reliable caregiver to support a modestly verbal young adult woman with autism on Sundays. Shifts available: 9am–4pm and 4pm–9pm. Candidates need not fill both shifts. Occasional overnight shifts are also possible. Must be able to swim.
Pay: From $28/hour
Schedule: 6 hours/week (on Sundays) with potential for additional hours
Location: Upper West Side
Key Responsibilities:
-Support daily living tasks with gentle prompting (bathing, brushing hair/teeth, dressing)
-Help with hygiene and medication administration (pills only, per printed schedule)
-Heat and plate pre-prepared meals
-Encourage independence and appropriate behavior in home and community settings
-Engage in preferred and new leisure activities (drawing, music, puzzles)
-Support during physical activities (yoga, swimming, treadmill) alongside instructors
-Promote smooth transitions and use behavioral strategies during challenging moments
Ideal Candidate:
-Experienced with high-needs individuals (personal or professional)
-Patient, proactive, and collaborative
-Comfortable with occasional physical outbursts
-Works well with a close-knit, supportive team
-Driving is a plus, but not required
You'll receive thorough training and ongoing support from a warm, dedicated team of therapists, caregivers, and family members.
