Hello! My name is Sanyu (SUN-yoo) and I am seeking a private unfurnished room in Brooklyn (preferably in or around Bed-Stuy, Crown Heights, Prospect Heights). My budget is $1,700 including utilities, and I am aiming for a 4/1 or 4/15 move-in date. I’m hoping to move into a place where I can stay long-term (at least a 12 months).

As a roommate: I really value clear and compassionate communication. I would like to have a relationship with my housemates where we enjoy each other's company, but there isn't pressure to engage. I like to live in a clean and uncluttered space, and am open to participating in house systems such as chore charts or regular check-ins so that we can be on the same page about the expectations we have. I have friends over about 2 times a month and am okay with occasional gatherings in the home. I’m up to date on all my vaccinations (including COVID & flu) and continue to mask in places such as the train, grocery store, etc.

I have lived in Bed-Stuy for 6.5 years and I currently work a 9-5 hybrid nonprofit job. I'll be going to grad school for interior design in the fall, but I have a background in social science and organizing. A queer-friendly household is a huge plus. Outside of work, I enjoy drawing, sewing, reading, listening to music, spending time with friends, taking care of my plants, and going to various arts and community events around the city :)
