Los Angeles-based art studio seeks sewist or costumer to construct a simple antique style menswear coat (c. 1920) by mid-March, April at latest.
Ideally we hope to establish a longer-term working relationship with a local professional. Sewists or costumers outside Los Angeles welcome to apply.
Project:
The item will be made from a commercial pattern (we will provide) and constructed from an unconventional cotton fabric which we will also provide. The coat will be a standard size.
Must-haves:
⁃ Experience with backing fabrics and adding structure to thinner materials
⁃ Garment due by mid-March, April at latest
Preferred:
⁃ Los Angeles-based in case modifications necessary
⁃ Reasoned rate as this is not bridal nor heirloom
