Large room in a 3000 sq ft Loft / co-op in Bushwick that has been an artist space since the 90s. Subletter would have 4 roommates.
2nd story walkup, no elevator.
Room is about 300 sq ft. + walk-in closet with lots of storage. Has a skylight so you can wake up with the sun / it's very bright. Not street facing so it's pretty quiet.
House rules are reasonable - do your dishes, don't make a mess, don't light anything on fire, don't be a jerk, etc.
There's a backyard with a little patio. it's pretty nice in the summer.
The roommates are all 35 or older, so less of a stay up all night partying crowd, but still fun when we want to be.
3 blocks from the Central Ave M stop / 15 minute walk to the Dekalb L stop - very easy to get into the city or move around BK.
There's a Cat in the house but he mostly stays in his owners room.
Very close to Maria Hernandez park - 5 minute walk.
Across the street from a bodega, 5 minute walk to a grocery store.

I am an Artist and Educator. Going to Europe for June for a few residencies / it's summer break.
Roommates are a Painter, a DJ, a writer, and a musician. We all have day jobs (or several) as well as our own creative practices. We have a monthly cleaning date that you would have to participate in, but other than that we don't do any full - house activities. Some of us cook, some of us don't. There's a mix of vegetarians and meat-eaters, so whatever you want to consume is up to you.
We share chore duties, so you'd be on the hook to help out, but you wouldn't have one specific task - just keep the space up really.
Looking for someone who can mesh with the space and appreciate this oasis. Definitely don't want a messy or party-all-night kind of vibe. The most important thing is that you're courteous and respectful and not a ding dong, really. If you can talk or play music or cook good risotto or whatever that's a bonus, but not a requirement.
$500 deposit + Full rent up front
Send me an email with a little about yourself. Then you can come by to check it out so we get a feel if you'll fit with the house. If you're not in New York currently, or just traveling for the month, we can schedule a Zoom call or something.
Not necessary to be an artist / writer / musician / whatever but definitely a plus. Let me know if you are! Art is fun.
Subletter will be paying me, I have already paid the months rent.
