We're looking for a new roommate to join our fantastic "unicorn" apartment (or so it's been dubbed). The new roommate would be subletting from April 1st until the end of the current lease, October 31st, with the possibility of joining the new lease on November 1st, 2026.
The apartment is a large 4 bed/2 bath apartment (approx. 1,600sq feet) in Brooklyn Heights. Located on the 6th floor of a historic elevator building, this apartment has sunny, open views of Brooklyn, ample storage, in-unit washer/dryer, a large "suburban-sized" kitchen, and a dishwasher. The living room is fully furnished and the kitchen has all the basics. The building also has a responsive live-in super and is located one block from the Brooklyn Promenade. We are close to a plethora of subways (2/3/4/5/A/C/F/R trains).

This airy, southeast-facing bedroom has 9-foot ceilings and can easily fit a full or queen-size bed, a desk, and multiple dressers/side tables. The apartment is structured so that there are two bedrooms in each "wing" that share a bathroom. The room is situated at the end of a hallway off the living room, providing privacy and additional space for a coat rack or shoe rack outside the bedroom door. The occupant of this room will share a spacious, sun-drenched bathroom with an educator (female, 43). The other two roommates, an architectural sales manager (male, 32) and a briefings and research coordinator for an elected official (female, 28) have bedrooms on the opposite wing of the apartment and share the second bathroom.

We are looking for someone who can commit to a sublet from April 1st to October 31st. If there is mutual compatibility, he or she would be welcome to sign onto our next annual lease which would start November 1st, 2026.

About This Lister

All roommates have met through the apartment. You would be joining two women and one man who met through the apartment. We're easy-going, direct communicators, and like to keep the apartment quiet and clean. We get along well but often keep different schedules.

All of us are quiet, laid-back people who are focused on our careers. We don't ever bring the party home with us and often spend weekends out actively exploring NYC (or relaxing in bed watching our favorite shows). We love Brooklyn Heights for its beautiful tree-lined historic streets, the ease of access the neighborhood has to anywhere in the city, and of course the beautiful Brooklyn Heights Promenade.

We enjoy a quick chat but are respectful of others' down-time after long days at work. We're very cognizant of how we use the common areas and clean up after ourselves without being asked. (The living room is attached to one roommate’s bedroom). We're LGBTQ+ friendly and vaccinated. We are looking for someone similar who would fit in well.

Rental requirements

In addition to the monthly rent, each roommate is responsible for their share of the utilities (gas, electricity, and high speed internet) which are typically around $70 per person per month. We split household supplies (toilet paper, dish soap, cleaning products) four ways. We also share the costs for a cleaner who comes every other week to clean the common areas ($35 per person per cleaning). Security deposit is an additional one month's rent and should be paid before the move-in date. This is an amazing deal for the size and location of the apartment. You must have proof of income with a good credit score to pass the landlord's credit check. No pets (sadly!) please! Looking to rent to 1 person only.
