We (myself, they/she, and J (she/her) are looking for a roommate to move into our 4-bed, 1-bath apartment in Crown Heights for September 1st.
The current total rent is $3450 but there will be a possible $50 increase. The large size room is 1240 with two windows and room for a queen bed and desk.
Due to its small size, the fourth room is used as a shared office/guest room. Utilities aren't included, but cost between $60-100 per person per month (with AC in the summer, the ConEd bill goes up). The apartment will be partly furnished, so feel free to come with furniture and a shared eye for decorating!
The apartment is on the 4th floor of a walk-up building. It’s a 7-minute walk to the 2/3/4/5 Franklin Ave stop, a 5-minute walk to the shuttle on Park Place, near multiple bus lines, and a Citibike dock is around the corner. There's roof access, and a laundromat across the street. The neighborhood has a lot of great bars, coffee shops, and restaurants, and both Brower Park and Prospect Park are a little farther away.
Y (they/she) black, queer, born and raised New Yorker, a freelance dancer. I have a full-time, mostly in-person job at an events space. I’m mindful of COVID, especially around travel and spikes in cases. vegan and an early riser.
J (she/her) Works remotely for a law firm. Loves to travel and have friends over. Originally from LA. Non-vegan has a deep love for Syrian food
It's important to me that we all feel comfortable and responsible for the apartment, keeping shared spaces clean regularly, buying household items when needed, and taking the
initiative to reach out to the landlord if necessary. I'm happy to talk about and figure out whatever systems would make things feel easiest!
Move-in costs:
There's an application with a fee of $20, and a deposit of one month's rent is required upon signing the lease for September. You can move in earlier if needed.
About you: I'm looking for someone who is a direct communicator and down to create a cozy, relaxing home.
Someone in their late 20s to early 30s with proof of a stable Income
(40x rent + good credit or a guarantor who makes 80x rent).
If you're not also queer and BIPOC, please be comfortable living with someone who is.
Let us know about yourself, your ideal living situation. We are looking to have tours/chats this weekend.
