A sunny, west-facing unfurnished bedroom in a 2bed/1bath apartment in a 3-family limestone in Flatbush. The room is at the back of the apartment with 2 large windows that fill it with warm afternoon light. The room is spacious and comfortably fits a double bed, armchair, desk, Peloton, dresser, and large rolling cart for reference. There's a ceiling fan and you'd need to bring your own window AC unit.
No dishwasher or washer/dryer, and the lease doesn't allow for adding one. There's a laundromat and supermarket less than a 5 min walk.
Storage: There's a built-in closet that's wider than it looks (runs the full width of the wall), a hallway closet, shared bathroom cabinet, and kitchen cabinet space. The apartment has a separate kitchen with a gas stove, a large living room, and a dining room.
Pets: No pets (firm lease policy, and the other roommate is allergic to cats). No smoking of any kind inside.
Accessibility: The apartment is on the first floor with approximately 7 steps to enter the front door.
Transportation: About a 3-min walk to the 2/5 Beverly station. Roughly 15 mins to Downtown Brooklyn and 25 to Lower Manhattan.
Neighborhood: Flatbush is a vibrant area with a long time Caribbean community and the delicious food to match. This particular block is quiet but the bustle of Flatbush ave and Church ave is a short walk a way. You’ll find many cafes along Rogers ave. Prospect Park is a 30min walk or 2 train stops away where you can enjoy picnics by the lake or go roller/ice skating depending on the season.

If it sounds like a good fit, feel free to reach out with a little about yourself (such as what you're looking for in a living situation, what your general schedule is, etc). Happy to answer any questions!
I'm helping find someone to take over my room. The remaining roommate is a woman in her 50s. She has more interior design and fashion coffee table books than she can count, watches all things 90 Day Fiancé, and has a growing interest in shooting digital photography. She's lived in Brooklyn for several decades and works in Manhattan 4 days a week. She generally keeps to herself, but is happy to a occasionally share a meal or watch a movie or tv show together.
The most important thing to her is a clean, peaceful home and a roommate who shares similar values. Hopes to cultivate a friendly and respectful dynamic. It's great if you hit it off, but no pressure to be besties. A friend or two over is totally fine, just not the whole party. Would prefer to share the space with another woman but is open.
Rent is $1,250/month with heat and gas included. Wifi and electric are about $80/month (sometimes less depending on the season). The lease is for 1-year starting June 1. The new roommate would sign on to the lease alongside the existing tenant. Open to a later move-in date (June 15 or July 1 latest), if needed.
Required documentation: proof of income, W-2s/tax returns, recent bank statements, and photo ID. Applicants would need to be approved by the landlord. First months rent and equivalent security deposit needed upon signing.
