August rental for two fully furnished rooms, a bathroom and kitchenette on the top floor of a townhouse in our private communal family home. The home is on Bergen Street, in the Crown Heights historic district near Brower Park in Brooklyn.

A bedroom with a queen-sized bed & blackout curtains.
An interconnected room / workspace with a daybed (opens to a queen bed).
An adjacent bathroom with a shower.
A dry kitchenette with a mini-fridge, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, etc.
Access to ground floor raspberry garden, washer / dryer, and shared kitchen as necessary.

The cozy rooms come with 1G internet, a library, desk, ample storage, air conditioning, linens, and eclectic furniture.

Shared home
This is essentially a room rental on a private floor in our home, however, we will be traveling most of August with friendly housekeeping on a regular schedule. Access to our kitchen and dining room on the main floor as needed
Shared washer and dryer on the ground floor (1st floor).
Shared backyard with raspberry bushes, furniture, dining area, and umbrellas.
Weekly cleaning, internet, utilities, garbage service, composting, and pest control included.

Brower Park is one block south and is home to a new public library and the iconic Children's Museum. We are near grocery stores, multiple subways, and interesting places to eat / drink / or get coffee on nearby Nostrand, Franklin, and Tompkins Avenue. Prosoect Park and the Botanical Gardens are a short run or nice long walk - away.

About This Lister

During our travels, we've appreciated clean and cozy living environments, including accommodations for food and related allergies. We understand the need for creature comforts and can help direct you toward desired itineraries.

We're a family of 3: two working design professionals and our 5th grader. We're accustomed to house sharing; my partner grew up in a Wohngemeinschaft, and my mom worked from home as a massage therapist and rented another room in our apartment to friends. We regularly host artists, architects, dancers, actors, musicians, and our extended family.

I grew up in Hoboken, went to art school in Manhattan, and continue to have an 'I love the east coast perspective.' My partner is from Bremen, Germany, and moved to Brooklyn 10 years ago. Our paths crossed in Rotterdam, where we met while studying architecture 2 million years ago. Before returning to Brooklyn, we lived in Bremen, Minneapolis (where I was born) and San Francisco.

In the summer we explore the archipelago. The 10 year old is smitten the Locals surf camp in the Rockaways. I've been into biking to Pier 11 in lower Manhattan, catching the Sea Streak ferry to Sandy Hook National Gateway Recreation Area in NJ, and crossing my fingers for whale sightings on my traffic-free mini-holiday. My partner loves kayaking and paddle-boarding in the Hudson.
