I am currently seeking a long term sublet or month-to-month room starting Sept 30/October 1, 2025. A 1 year long stay would be perfect!

Here are the things I am looking for in a room/house.

HOUSE/APARTMENT
- in unit/in building laundry
- No higher than 2nd floor walk up OR elevator building
- Living room with a couch
- Dining area of some kind
- On the ~quieter~ side (at home and in the neighborhood)
- close by public transit
- Cat friendly! (Legally registered support animal)
- No existing cats (my cat prefers to be solo!)

ROOMMATES
- 1-3 roommates (flexible)
- COVID cautious/considerate roommate(s)
- LGBTQ+ / BIPoC roommate(s) a bonus, but not required
- Trans friendly and good with pronouns

ROOM
- at least 10’x10’, ideally a little larger
- Space for a full size bed, desk, dresser
-unfurnished/partially furnished
- $700-$900 ideal budget w/o utilities (slight flexibility*)

Preferred neighborhoods include: Flatbush, Park Slope, Crown Heights, Sunset Park, Prospect Lefferts Gardens, BedStuy, Ocean Hill.

Open to other neighborhoods, but hoping to stay in Brooklyn for work and friends/community. I am hoping to NOT live too close to nightlife and would prefer a family or elder dominant neighborhood. Will consider other boroughs if it’s a good fit!

About This Lister

My name is x (they/them pronouns) and I am a multidisciplinary artist, curator, and intimacy coordinator; turning 30 this October. I am currently working primarily as a Teaching Artist for dance and am an Accessibility Artist Assistant for a remote year long contract. I am multiply disabled and come with a very affectionate registered emotional support animal; 10 year old silver shorthair cat (pictured above). I am immunocompromised so I still mask in public and crowded spaces; ideally prospective roommates currently mask to some extent and are COVID-19 vaccinated.

I like to make/see art, practicing yoga/meditation, use tarot/oracle cards, enjoy reading, listening to music, and watching TV in my spare time.

Previous medical emergencies have damaged my credit, and I am unable to secure a guarantor, but I can show proof of income and provide various references; in addition to providing 1st month’s rent and security deposit prior to/upon move-in.
