We offer for winter sublet our brick house centrally located in the town of Turners Falls Massachusetts, a classic New England Mill town. Built in 1900, the house is spacious and comfortable for one person or a couple with plenty of room to muse and work.
The first floor has a comfortable living room, practical kitchen, dining area with a table that seconds as a good flat work surface, an office and a bathroom with shower.
The second floor has a bright studio space with 2 painting easels, a bedroom with queen size bed, a half bath, yoga room, laundry and another largish open room. There’s also an unheated glassed in southeast facing porch on this floor which can warm up on sunny days.
There is a garden, parking area and small garage. It is not handicap accessible due a step at front and back entrances as well as a staircase to the second floor.
The house is within walking distance to groceries, hardware store, restaurants, community Theater and cafes. Abundant walking and bike trails wind along the river, canal, and surrounding area.
We are semi retired artists/ painters who like to travel. From 2014 through 2017 we served in the Peace Corps in Morocco and now return there each winter. We purchased this house in 2023 and have been working on it since then. Our house is offered at a relatively low rent in the spirit of creating time and space for an artist, writer or craftsperson who wishes to immerse themselves in their work on self directed retreat.
The house is a work in progress but it’s attractive, clean, cozy and very functional and Turners Falls is a wonderfully quirky town!
We require first, last and one month security, a signed contract and recommendations. Also utilities (gas and electricity) will be reimbursed to the owner monthly. Our T-Mobile WIFI is included in the rent.
Pet negotiable.
