We’ll be traveling Dec 15–31, and during that time, the upper bedroom floors, the main-floor kitchen, living and dining rooms, plus laundry and backyard access will be available for your temporary use.

The top-floor two-bedroom suite works well for a small family or a couple needing private work-from-home space, and the home overall suits people who prefer a mellow, well-kept place to stay.

To stay transparent, we approach this as a cost-sharing sublet to help cover the home’s carrying and operating costs. The cost-share is:
• $1,600 for one week
• $3,200 for two weeks

The home has great light and a comfortable, cared-for feel, with bookshelves on every floor, plants, warm lighting, a hammock, and a well-equipped, functional kitchen. It’s a place that’s easy to come back to at the end of the day.

On the practical side, one bedroom has a queen bed, and the second has a daybed that opens to a king. There is washer/dryer access, reliable internet, steam heat, a dishwasher, linens, towels, and all utilities included. We take off our shoes in the hallway and ask others to do the same.

Our neighbors are also friends, and normal household-level noise is appreciated; you may hear someone practicing piano, the mail being delivered, or a bus passing by.

Our townhouse sits on a pretty stretch of Bergen Street in the Crown Heights historic district, a residential part of Brooklyn with an easy neighborhood rhythm.

The house was built around the turn of the century and still holds much of its original character—woodwork, shutters, tall doors, and layered rooms—alongside a modernized kitchen and updated bathrooms that keep things simple and comfortable.

Application

1. A quick video call to confirm household details and the dates you’re requesting.

2. A LinkedIn profile or similar social profile, plus a reliable reference.

3. A signed agreement confirming dates, names, ID, household size, and basic expectations for the home.

4. Cost-share contribution + deposit:
• $1,000 refundable security deposit.
• 50% of the cost-share due at confirmation; remaining balance due by arrival
Proof of travel or renter’s insurance is welcome.

Housekeeping
Our long-standing housecleaner maintains a regular schedule and can let everyone know if anything in the home needs attention.

Property Layout
FYI this is a two family home and The garden level is a separate tenant apartment with its own private entrance. Laundry and the backyard are shared with them. During the agreed-upon dates, you’ll have temporary use of the designated upper floors of the home.
