Enjoy Brooklyn summer in an ideal summer apartment with a huge deck. You’ll enjoy a comfortable room in a bright, high-ceiling apartment. We are looking for a third roomie who would love to spend all or part of the summer in the best apartment in Brooklyn. We are in an ideal location, equidistant from Prospect Park and Fort Greene Park, near the A/C/Q/N/G/2/3/4/5 and Barclays Center. This place has central AC, an in unit washer dryer, and a dishwasher — adding up to a rarely encountered Brooklyn trifecta. We love cooking, chatting and hosting gatherings for our friends. We are looking for someone with similar values and good vibes.
About the room:
The room faces the street (so not best for light sleepers) but gets tons of light and has a tall closet. The room can come furnished with a dresser and bed, or unfurnished. You would be located off the living room and kitchen–one spacious, plant-filled room and next to your own entrance.
About the house: We are up a one floor walk up, in a 3 unit building on a bustling corridor. We have a studio apartment-sized full bathroom, and an additional half bath. Our other common areas include the patio (with lots of plants and grill), a spacious living room, washer, dryer and dishwasher. We also have central AC to help with the summer heat. We are friendly (and friends!) in the house, and while not a party house, we do love to invite our community over for movie nights on the deck and dinners, especially in the summer.
Location:
We’re right on Vanderbilt Avenue in Prospect Heights which is home to tons of restaurants, book stores, gift shops and cafes. We're a 15 min walk to Prospect Park and are walking distance from the Brooklyn Museum, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the Brooklyn Central Library, and the Barclay’s Center. On Saturdays, you’ll be walking distance from two separate farmer’s markets in Grand Army Plaza and Fort Greene park. If you care to leave the neighborhood, you’ll be walking distance from about a dozen trains, including the Q, N, C, G, 1, 2, etc.
About us: We are two cis women in our late thirties. One of us works from home as an environmental journalist and the other is a cook who works late nights and weekends and is involved in various food justice projects.
The room will be available from June 1st to September 31st, with potential options to stay longer/ shorter if desired. Minimum one month stay. Cost $1400 per month, not including utilities. The room can come furnished with a bed and dresser or unfurnished, depending on your needs.
Small dogs allowed on a case by case basis.
